I have just installed a new Prosport 52mm Tacho and Oil Pressure gauge in to my VW T25 1.9DG tintop and all wired in and working fine.

However, currently I have them wired up so the illumination is white all the time.
I understand that they are able to also illuminate blue when you say turn the headlights on.
I am assuming this is done by wiring it up the light switch on the dash however I am unsure what terminal I should wiring in to to make this happen.


I had an email from their support asking if this was possible, reading:
Correct, if you wire the other wire to a headlight switched power, it will change to blue when the headlights are turned on - I just need to know which terminal on the light switch to wire into.

Any help would be great, here is a picture of the terminals on rthe back of the light switch.

Pin 58 to connect to sidelight circuit, or pin 56 (large spade in corner of switch) to connect to headlight circuit.

So if I connect to pin 58 will it change to blue illumination when side lights are on but revert to white again when in main headlights?

If this is the case I assume I can wire to both pin 58 and 56 so the gauges turn blue if either sides or full headlight are turned on?

No sidelights stay on with headlights so dials will stay blue. If you wired to both you would be shorting pins 56 and 58 together, not a good thing.
