Doesn't look too bad a list of items there - Have you had a quote to get the welding done Keith? A good percentage of these vans will have had a level of welding work required due to their age. You'd be hard pushed to find one that hasn't required any of this kind of work.

You can deal with the advisories at a later stage.

Sorry to hear that. Where was it tested last year? A lot gone wrong in that time. Most of the failures are reasonable diy with a bit of research or help but the welding isnt , pictures would help of these areas then the experts on here could perhaps help etc. Would be worth a lot more with an mot and nows a good time to sell so would it more than offset the welding cost? Probably just get through this mot then sell and leave the advisories. Looks like it will want more welding next year as well.

2014 & 2015 MOT's were done in the same Garage Nr Edinburgh!
I have to question the veracity of those MOT's

I'm sure that they'll check online and see that another garage has found a huge list of failures hence precluding them passing them?

The MOT is a statement of compliance at a certain moment in time technically it is irrelevant an hour after it's passed.

The fact is it's had bent MOTs is something that you can't prove.

Sorry to hear your woes, sounds very disappointing, as above its the welding that will cost you. Some of the other points can be fixed with time, effort and some money if you decide to keep it

Ruralman, my van was in for its MOT yesterday and failed on a very very similar list to yours.
Most I can fix... exhaust leaking (joints), headlamp adjusted, brakes binding etc.

But I'm curious as to how you got on with rear suspension mountings. Did you manage to get this welded and if so do you mind giving an indication of the cost? Also did they do welding with everything in situ or did they have to remove rear arms etc.?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.
