The subject says it all...
I'm trying to work out if a C Reg (83/84) is an early sliding door - I believe it is...but just need confirmation.

cheers,
Rich

The newer sliding door had a different length handle to the older one.
If yours is about the span of your little finger and thumb, its the new one, if its different its the older one.

Mines an '84 and it's early so '83 will definately be, are you trying to establish the type of door on a van you have access to? because ifyou can see the handle the early one is about 7" long whereas the later one is only around 5".

It's actually one that I'm intending to buy if it's any good - so I don't acess to it.

All the c reg ones i have looked at have been later doors if that helps - latest i've found is a B reg but that is by no means conclusive...

Early Sliding door UPTO chassis E 175000 ie built before August 1984, so all model year 1985 onwards are late, ie all syncros.

Remember that a vehicle may have been built upto 2 years before it was registered so always go by chassis number when looking at changes.
