Got a chance of getting either 1.9d or 1.9td to replace my worn out 1.6d. Both will fit my t25. Jus wondering how much more work is needed to put turbo one in rather than non turbo one. Is it a lot more work. Got a 1.6d 4 speed at the moment
Thx all knowledgeable peeps xx

I'd just go 1.9 N/A if I were you. The 1Y is a great workhorse, and performs almost as well as an AAZ, but with better economy IMHO.
To put turbo on you need to modify sump for oil drain, inlet manifold is a problem if you don't have an old JX one to modify, air filter and ducting is very different, lda on pump will foul engine lid so hole and brickwerks plate needed to do it nicely, exhaust...etc etc.
Just pop the 1Y in

Hi
I put a 1.9 NA in to replace the 1.6 cs - and am very pleased with it
Its very straightforward
All the best with the conversion - google colin the fox - he did a great write up with pictures I found very helpful
I am in Brighton and see you are "south coast"
Happy to be of any help if I can

I am sure you will be pleased with it.
I felt it slightly under- geared, but the biggest diameter possible tyres on standard steels sorted that out to my satisfaction.
Lower rpm on motorways.
Colin is the 1.9 guru but if I can help in any way pl don't hesitate
