Two questions, both about doors.

Evening all.

I am hoping for a simple answer here, so here goes...

My driver door `hangs` down a bit when open ( about 3 or 4 millimetres I would guess.)
This means that the lock hits the catch and lifts the door a few mm before actually closing.

It doesn't hang down enough to stop it closing, but it `bugs` me.
Is there a way to adjust it?

Secondly, the sliding door handle wobbles when in situ.
I had a little play with it some weeks ago, but although it seems to fit and is screwed up tight, it still wobbles about.
There doesn't seem to be any fitting around the handle ( it looks like there should be something between the handle and door to hold it straight in the hole. ) This means rain can pour in the gap between the door panel and the handle - it's quite a large space so I am guessing a lot gets in..!!

I'm wondering if the bit I am missing is what also holds it still?
Anyone know?

Don't know if this makes sense, but as I'm in the middle of something else on the van and in need of parts, I thought I would look at the little things that irritate me.

Thanks in advance for any tips. :ok

There is a grommet style rubber bush thing that pushes in place in the hole in the s/door where the handle pushes in. Costs about £4 from jk or brickwerks etc.

Re the door, the latch mechanism on door pillar is adjustable, undo the allen screws to move it into a better position to catch the door.

ref slider handle, early or late? as they are different, either way have you checked the screw is tight and if so is the handle generally sloppy in all planes?
as for the cab door, well with it shut what is the alignment like in relation to the swages etc, and what are the vertical gaps like when closed ?
if you open the door a few inches can you lift it at all ? if not then loosen striker plate on B post and lower a touch.
what are the gaps and alignment like now,
mm

My Pritsche had the same dropping door problem - the hinges had broken way from the door chassis.
Two weld tacks and it no longer drops.

Thanks for the replies all.

MM, yep, handle sloppy in all planes and the screw is tight on the side door - late type.
I will order the grommet mentioned and take a look at the driver door too, over the next few days.

From memory it actually hangs down a bit and doesn't sit 'straight' in its space.
The gaps are bigger near reAr of the van than the front - if that makes sense.

I will post a pic when I get 20 mins.thanks again for your thoughts everyone. :ok
