Toying with the idea of having an underslung gas cylinder fitted. I don't mean LPG - this is for the cooker and heater. Can anyone recommend a supplier/fitter? Any particular types I should be looking at? Recommendations?

The gasit cylinders are nice to fit (i have one) Maybe Steve at gas sure fits them?

What size do you have, Lloyd, and is it fitted along one of the sills?

pretty sure its 20L i just checked their site and they now do tanks with feet, this means no straps.. Just bolts through the floor straight into the feet.

What do you think that you are going to put in it other than LPG?

Didn't want anyone confusing it with an LPG (for the engine) query.

Same gas, one is vapour take off the other is liquid take off. (Top of tank or bottom basically, engines have it vapourized at the engine end, domestic uses the gas from the space above the liquid. That's why you can't use a normal cylinder on its side.)

I recently fitted a large but short cylinder tank under rear seat (30 litres) that supplies my Propex and cooker/fridge. Cheap gas now and I only had to change one valve and fit an external filler. It used to be an autogas one. As said, the only difference between an autogas and leisure tank is the outlet valve (Tinleytech do them for all tank circumferences) so its perfectly possible to convert an underslung four-hole stako-type autogas tank for less than £100 if you can find a suitable tank.

The biggest drive for adding one is the cost of bottled gas. Last year I spent around £60 in bottled gas. This year it will be £15, so worth all the valve-swapping. I've a few mods to make like adding an external takeoff for cooking outdoors, but it works well.

Incidentally, I've got another LPG/leisure tank that fits under a back seat if anyone is looking for one. Its an autogas tank but can be converted fairly easily. I had no prob anyway. £30 collected from Warwickshire. Comes with valve cover etc. The valve to change it to a catering tank is £28 from Tinleytech. Will get some pics and post it in 'for sale' section.
