Memory foam - not for me

Finally got her Ladyship to agree in getting rid of damned memory foam mattress cover thing. For me all the claimed good points are bad points:

1/ Used by astronauts:
Who needs a mattress when there isn't any gravity? Couple of loose Velcro straps would do the job.
2/ Conforms to your body shape:
More like forms round you trapping you in one position. Danger of Restless Leg Syndrome and slow blood flow due to inhibited peristalsis action in normal sleep movement.
3/ And whats more: Too hot and clammy due to wrap around effect causing excess contact between bed occupant and heavy dense material.
4/ And for the for the more active members: Reduction of bed springiness to to very high values of hysteresis incumbent with this material.
Ignoring item 4 I tried to explain all this to Her Ladyship but it fell on deaf (Not listening) ears.
Any views?

Not in the van but got a new mattress for the home bed this year and was sold on the hype of a "hybrid memory foam" job - worse flipping thing we've ever had - wife loves it - but she's 5'"2" and nice and small whereas I am approaching 20 stone and 6'6". All that happens is that I wake up with the feeling that I'm lying at the bottom of a trench and the support is absolute rubbish, not to mention it cost a fortune! saving up so we can bin the thing

Gosh! So nice to hear at least I am not on my own in this issue. Frightening how easily people can be lead by advertising these days.
