Have you any idea what this wire is coming from the original loom on the van, it is with the harness that comes in on the left of the engine bay along with the loom to the rear lights ect however it is separate with is own sleeve.
It is a spade connector with a black and red cable?

red+black is starter exciter in original wiring

Arr you mean the original VW starter motor solenoid?

May I respectfully suggest you let us know what engine you have in your van

yep starter trigger red/black, may have been re rerouted to a relay or completely bypassed from ignition switch

I meant starter solenoid trigger wire

I am in the middle of installing my Rjes wiring loom for my Subaru EJ25 conversion and I am getting a little confused with the starter connections
