I'm looking to fit a full width bed and redo my whole interior. Looking at the beds I've found that Rusty Lee ones are highly recommended. I've never seen one in the flesh, but I have seen Vanwerks ones. Are they on a par do you think, or have you got any other good alternatives? My kids travel on this seat so I want something I can rely on to be as safe as possible in the unfortunate event of a crash.

Its the only one I have seen with built in seat belts. They started at £225 then £275 (What I paid) and now they are £300. Still worth it though if you look at the quality.

Thaks for the info. Seen those but I'm happy to use the mounting points in the van for the belts. That's how I'm setup now. Beds look good though and I've seen the post saying they're currently modding them to make them better

Loads of people added RnR beds with seat belts into T4s and the buzz word was "pull-tested". If a bed wasn't pull tested then it wasn't certified to be safe in a crash.

Dunno if its the same with these beds, but I wouldn't put anyone I valued on a seat that wasn't certified. Of course the Westy bed seat isn't certified I don't imagine, but the seat belts go to the correct mounting points int he van structure.

hence why I feel safer keeping them there. Those built in points are tied into the structure so going nowhere. Might just be paranoid and the new beds are perfectly fine, but looking at the kids in the rear view mirror certainly makes you think about what if......

one of the probllems with seat mounted belts or for that matter the inertia reel being securely mounted to the floor then the shoulder belt goes over the back of the seat, in an impact as you move forward the belt tensions but because it is placed over the backrest there is nothing to stop this collapsing and pushing you down, pull test !! err a full collision stop at 30mph the average adult will load pushing 2 tons
we build race motors, from scratch and yes these have 5 point fixings but the over shoulder belt position is critical and cannot be lower than the drivers shoulder , i would be happier with a lap belt than the above
