Hi All,
I am a new T25 camper owner. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a mechanic in the North East around Norhutmberland or Tyne and Wear. Just spent 3 months getting the van back on the raod because it was in storage for the last 3 years. Looking forward to camping when the weather warms up and lots of VDub fests.

I am in Darlington and do a few spares and small repairs/service work if you get stuck. Cheers Jon

I use a garage in high Heaton near me, woods and sons. They often have lots of old cars in from tvrs to VW cars and vans, even an e type jag. They a general garage, but helpful and don't over charge, they pressed the bearing out of a skodafabia hub for free for me. Always sympathetic to old cars at MOT time, they know how much play its allowed in a king pin! recommended.

Don't know how much they charge but Wall Garage in Wall (surprisingly) are old school classic car specialists, they bought a Triumph gearbox off me a few years ago which I dropped off with them, nice guy and super premises.

Cheers guys for all of the suggestions. It's up and running currently after quite a bit of work. New fuel tank, sender unit, fuel lines, carb rebuild by Roger at Bromyard VW, fuel pump etc. Hoping to get lots of camping in over the next 8-9 months and then take it off the road for a couple of months at the end of the year. There is the usual minor bubbling around the windows and in a couple of other areas. Want to have the windows out and the rusty bits round them sorted and then new window seals. Other than that it is in great nick for a 26 year old van. Will set up a photobucket account and post some photos.

:D

Hi Andy, nice to see another owner in the area, you are ideally located for quite a shows around here, you've got Biggar at the end of may, mighty Dub Fest at Alnwick in June, Redcar volksfest in July and field of dreams at York in September, so hopefully we might see you out at some of them

Hi Rob and Kev,
The Alnick Mighty Dubfest is on 17th-19th June. We have already booked for Eskdale Dubfest in Cumbria (15th-17th April).

Here are a few pics of the van.

Not sure if it is a factory conversion or a homebuild. The cabinets look like an autosleeper but the roof doesn't. Curtains are definitely going to the tip.....
