How do you know if you have put petrol into a diesel engine what are the symptoms and do the emisions smell waxy?

It'll give you an idea of some of the likely symptoms.

If you have put the wrong fuel in then, I suggest you try to drain the tank as much as possible, fill with diesel, and then flush the injection system through before trying to do any more driving with it
