Broken down fuel leak

I've been breaking down recently. Thought it was something to do with lpg. It starts fine then stops immediately. Looked under carb and saw this leak. Any ideas. I haven't got my Haynes but I think it's the accelerator pump that's leaking.

Either way, carb overhaul kit needed. Ebay about the cheapest.

Only done a few hundred miles on petrol since it was last done although that was 2 years ago. Is that the accelerator pump in the photo ( the RAC guy didn't know) and would a blockage else where make it leak?
Running again on gas have increased idle speed and time will tell. I really need it this weekend

If the pump diaphragm is split it will leak.

Re blockages, the only place a blockage
could contribute to a leak is in the fuel return pipe. There are two fuel pipes on the carb. Identify the one that goes to the fuel pump, now take the
other one off and blow down it. After a second or two you should here your puff bubbling up through the fuel in the tank, showing all is clear. If you cannot blow down it, it's blocked, but I have to say it's extremely rare for that pipe to get a blockage. Other than that it's likely to be the accelerator pump diaphragm or a simple leaking gasket / pipe join etc.
While it is like that, it will be OK to run on LPG but for goodness sake don't switch over to petrol. There is an obvious serious risk of fire there.
E D I T = Sorry, just read your other thread re alternator and now realise you only just found the leak etc
That leak, wherever it is coming from, won't cause it to break down when running on LPG by the way.

Thanks guys I did have a look at the diaphragm but only cursory. I'll check the fuel pipe for a blockage, tbh I didn't notice a gasket at all so I'll have another look.
E D I T. Thanks Kev I couldn't see any definite splits but it looked brittle so I'll get another one and I reckon you're right. Just ran the van for an hour in traffic on lpg and no problems so perhaps the idle was just too low. The engine is running brilliantly, I couldn't tell if it was running when I had the music on, it's really smooth. Going on a trip to Caernarfon so fingers crossed.

Brickwerks have two refurb kits for the 2e3 a long one and a short one. Can anyone tell from my photo which one I need?

Looks like the long one to me. Brickwerks have two images, showing one of each type used. The long one seems to have a slight overhang over the lower linkage, like yours. If you study their pictures and compare to yours, then you may agree that the long one looks correct.
How's that for a non-committal answer

I think you're right. Its also the cheaper one so I thought that might be swaying my thinking, Typically I bought the coolant sensor from brickwerks yesterday didn't think I needed anything else.

Hope it sorts the problem and for what it's worth, my engine ran a whole lot better once I fitted an overhaul kit, money well spent

I keep thinking about how lucky I was. I virtually always swap over on a fast road, had I done so this would have been an engine fire!
I should get the carb kit from Brickwerks today, does anyone know if the accelerator pump diaphragm need any adhesive to attach it?
That leak, wherever it is coming from, won't cause it to break down when running on LPG by the way.

No, it just clamps in place and in doing so forms it's own gasket.

Cheers Gents. Kit arrived today. Handed over a lot of money to a plumber today and my Renault failed its MOT so I could do with this being a cheap fix
E D I T. Cheap fix it was, fitted new diaphragm and hey presto no leak. I'm amazed that the crappy thin plastic diaphragm on there before ever made a good seal.
