Best window winders

When I got the van the original 30 year old window winders were fitted. Functional but looked a bit tired - easy upgrade. Bought wood ones from vw heritage, they lasted 4000 miles around France (hot so Windows went up and down a lot). Just fitted my empi ones I bought a while back - they were expensive which I equated with being good. They keep falling off... Any thoughts on good ones??

Look at any others that fit Type 1 (beetle winders). Fitting is the same. The only problem you can sometimes get is where a speaker grill is too close to winder and they need to stand off slightly.

Mine came off an 80's Audi I found in the breakers - they look good, fit fine and seem strong

Interesting thanks - the days of being allowed to look around scrappies seem to be gone, will have a look on eBay!

Yeah, it used to be an education. often whilst scouting around you'd be reminded of another little job that needed sorting or see something compatible or you'd be able to adapt. Now it seems to be ask the grumpy bloke at the counter for a specific part and get a 'sorry mate, ain't got nuffin like that'

I've got a set of Wolfsburg ones on mine but also bought some chrome handles from heritage to tidy it up a bit:

These look quite nice (saw the advert in Hayburner), assuming they'd fit 6th item down the page.
