Engine Bay

Hi all
I just took out my 1.9DG over the weekend in preparation for the Ej25 converison.

The engine bay is obviously very dirty/rusty and I would like to tidy it up an clean paint it.
What is my best options for painting the engine bay? Would it be Rustloem with a brush or would something else be a better option?
Its not a show vehicle so the finish does not need to be perfect, just a nice clean look.
Thanks

Clean as best as you can, Vactan (only where needed) then Rustloem, which brushes on pretty well indeed. You might need to thin it a bit, and I found it takes a while to harden properly, more so I bet in this cold weather. That is what I would do.

In these temps as ghost says it will take a while to harden off. Ive also found that when dried and hardened the paint tends to become very " brittle " .

What about POR 15 Rust paint?

Very limited colours but black would be OK.

Darker colours make the engine bay seem more spacious - there's loads of room to work in there

Satin black hammerite for me, it looks really good (satin hides the imperfections more) and made a massive improvement on the scabby old paint.
