Hi All
Just wondering if I'm going to damage anything if I jump start using the leisure battery. The LB is a lead acid.
Thanks

I wonder why not - my boat uses leisure batteries for both. Never had any problems, it is a normal set up in boats. It is only when people start talking about vans/campers that people say no.
I would have no qualms whatsoever using a leisure/deep cycle battery for jump starting. I would if the leisure was a puny little affair though.

Thanks Guys. It's the radio which is constantly live which is pulling it down.

Take the constant live feed for the radio to the leisure battery.

If the battery has a CCA rating (cold cranking amps) then it is designed to turn an engine over.
Ideally needs CCA figure similar or higher to the starter battery.
