Hi all
Been looking for an answer to my non clicking D2L pump.
Winter is coming and need the warmth!

I have the simple Eber control unit with dial 1-7 and rocker switch.
Rocker to the right dial on 7, fan comes on good speed green light stays on atleast 3 minutes
No clicking or noise from the pump.
Check underneath all cables fuel pipes exhaust appear newish no obvious blockages or damage. Italian car so little if ever used heater.
Power at the green and green/white wires at the pump.
Glow plug gets hot to the touch under boot.

Has anyone had experience of an under used pump seizing or other ideas, could I remove it and soak it in brake cleaner....???

pump has number 2515 0745 606
Eberspacher D2L 25197 00 00 00
1987
2300W
Google doesn't come up with spares, are there alternative pumps from D2 boats etc?
Thanks

You can make it click by powering it directly. if it's not clicking then yeah it's seized or something
This site is generally useful!

Are you getting power pulses to the pump - analogue meter better for seeing these?, if not ecu probably shot. What are you measuring when you say that you are getting power?
If you are, pump is most probably seized. Heaters should be run once a month at least throughout the year to prevent this happening.
Pumps available on ebay sometimes, you want one that covers 1-3/4Kw. Don't be tempted to use a Webasto one as the amount that they pump are different and therefore aren't interchangeable.

I have rescued a couple of stuck pumps by using heat, plusgas and a pulse generator at the same time but it is rare that you have a long lived pump afterwards! (The seals inside get trashed)

It's also worth doing the basic stuff like checking all the connectors for the Eber are clean and properly mated, particularly to the ECU.

Don't forget to run the heater throughout the year now!

Same applies to Propex. They like to be run. Mind you, mines on all the time at mo - parked up somewhere or driving.
