Damp/dripping roof

Hi all
I have an 84, lhd, 2.1l, Westfalia, Joker. The inside of the roof gets damp from time to time and occasionally I get those lovely drips on my face that others have mentioned. The source of the moisture is not my skylight, as it seems to be for others, but the black rubber seal/trim that fits around the edge of my pop top has shrunk and has come away from the flared rear corner sections (tho it's still in one piece). In your infinite wisdom is this likely to be the source (the moisture is not localised to just this section) or is there another more likely culprit that I haven't yet fingered (...)?
Thanks
Ky
