Heater Blower

Morn All,

Another heater blower not working, I have read the below link and the Wiki pages and am pretty much ready to go and start the testing etc.

I have had issues with the switch before, working intermittently, upon closer inspection it appeared that the plastic had deteriorated/melted inside and was preventing the switching mechanism making positive contact. I cleaned this up and all was fine. Then after a few months of a squeaky fan I now have nothing, when having a poke around yesterday with the switch I noticed it was getting quite hot and was starting to smell, sound normal??

Feels like every time I get in the van something goes wrong, but thanks for all the info on previous threads and Wiki, in a weird way its nice to know its common!!

It's common. Get your dash off and fit a new one !

30 year old fan, drawing too many amps at startup, hot wires, hot switch = fit new fan. Forget the myths about WD40, drilling a hole via the front. A tired fan is a tired fan. You'll be ok - just plod through it. :D
