Westy high top skylight

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knew how to replace just the top part of a skylight on a westy high top, seems someone has either threw a brick onto the roof or climbed onto the roof and broken the top cover of the skylight, can just this part be replaced, or has the whole unit got to come out? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Brickwerks have also started stocking these. I think you need to replace the whole unit.

Hi mark thanks for the link, I'm pretty sure that is the part I need, but can just this piece be replaced? If so would you know how it's done? There's a long pin that holds this to the comple unit, but not sure wether it can be taken out, cheers.

Cheers for the reply Clift_d, that was what I thought but you can buy the one piece as you can see in marks link, so surely this should be able to be done

Seeing as Gunzl sells the Skylight on its own I would assume it is possible. Why don't you give them a call or send an email. I've bought their stuff a few times and they've always been helpful.

I've only had mine off for re-sealing and didn't have to separate the parts but I'd be interested to know how you get on.

Okay. I hadn't realised they sold the top section separately. We ended up replacing both of ours completely as the plastic frames etc were somewhat brittle. It might be worth seeing if you can get the top section off without breaking the frame before you just order the part.
