Stainless steel coolant pipes

Hi I'm looking for some advice/tips on the following. My van is a 1990 Caravelle 1.9DG and I have a set of Brickwerks stainless pipes and radiator ready to fit.
I don't mind dropping the fuel tank but there are no issues with it, so if the job can be done without that would be preferable…
Are there any other jobs I could be doing while I'm in there?

Thanks

I believe the pipes split to enable fitting without dropping the tank

Give the handbrake cable a cleanup and paint. Check condition of brake/clutch pipes and paint.Check top of tank for rust.

What condition is your handbrake primary cable and balance bar in ? changing this can be done whilst the tank is out. I bought the stainless pipes from VW heritage and they were in four parts, as Kev mentions, and I couldn't fit them without dropping the tank !! They are a tight fit and a second pair of hands are really useful. Good luck

You need to drop the tank.

There is a hoseclip just inside the crossmember above the fuel tank and the heater hoses are cable tied to the front to rears.
You can do it with the tank in but you can't do it 100%

No we didn't, as Simon says there's a clip hiding underneath the tank.

You may not recall kev but the tank was already off when you helped me put them on and i didn't put it back on for a few months.

All done now thanks for the advice.
Tank out, didn't take long, old pipes pulled out from the back, new ones went in easy, just matched them up to the old laid out on the drive so that I knew what bit is what.
Just to give the tank a coat of paint while its out and decided to put in new heater hose too.
