I have a european charger in the tool pack that came with my camper, what I need to know is can I put an UK adaptor onto it & charge up my batteries or will I just blow up the charger? Is the voltage rating different in europe or is it just the plug?

I can switch from the main battery to the leisure battery & Start the van from that if the main one is flat, so I assume that I need to run the van with switch in both position to charge both batteries, can someone clarafy this for me.

Thanks from a lifelong lover, but first time owner of a van

leisure batterys are made to give a slow out put and car ones a fast one for starter motor etc. if you use a leisure battery for starting the van it will fhook it right up.

--if its just a mains battery charger cut the euro schuco plug off & fit a uk 3 pin----you will be ok to start on your leisure battery as long as its a car battery & not a proper deep discharge leisure battery--if its fitted under the seat it will probabley be a normal car battery--

Hi

The voltage in the UK is in line with Europe 230V -6% to +10%.

It is worth while checking the input voltage of the charger, it should have a sticker with the input voltage range just make sure it's as above. If it is you will be fine with a travel plug converter.

The site below has loads of info on European voltage Harmonisation
