First time T25 owner looking for local garage and advise

Hello

I've just bought my first T25 and joined the 89-90 forum, and a couple of Facebook groups, to try and connect to what I am sure is a vast pool of knowledge and friendly T25 owners to help me get myself properly set up.

Initially I am looking for a good local garage to service my van in Gloucestershire and also some advise on getting rear lap belts fitted either to existing seat or by but a new rock and roll seat

My van is a 1981 2l air-cooled T25 Autohomes conversion in a lovely shade of dark brown and beige.

The rear seat is a made form wooden panels so may be problematic for fitting eat belts

any advise welcome and also location of a reputable garage for a full service would be much appreciated

Many thanks :-)

Hello, welcome to you and your van.

This is quite an involved topic as you'll find when doing a search of the forums - all the info you need should be around. Start with this thread perhaps...

https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... s#p7960521" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My van has units along one side as many campers do, so the previous owner managed to get one 3-point belt fitted on the sliding door side, the anchor point being the rear pillar behind the hatch and for the clip, the body beneath the seat of course. The other side is just a lap belt, very easy to install but of course not the preferred way to secure passengers.

It won't matter what kind of seats you have as long as the belt clips can be accessed.

Can't help you with garages. For the simpler non-t3 specific stuff your trusted local mechanic will be fine but for carb rebuilds and so on you will have to find and travel to a specialist for good results. At least the Aircooled lumps are covered by many VW specialists, unlike the WBX units that some fight shy of...

All the best

We're here to help you do things for yourself..like your service every 5000.
It'll get a bit expensive if you rely totally on garage services.
