Subaru EJ 20 going in Jambo van

Ive decided to fit a Subaru EJ20 NA into Jambo van.
Ive got the doner vehicle, it's a 1999 model Legacy Classic GL manual box. It has 6 months MOT so im planning on taking the van off the road once ive used all the LPG( that's assuming the engine lasts that long ). Then use the Subaru as transport until ive saved enough for the RJES transplant parts.
I looked into the cost of an engine on a pallet but was put off by the fact that I wanted something that I knew was a good runner. I can also use the wiring loom, brain and key from the same vehicle. So far the engine appears to be in excellent condition with 133k on the clock.
I'll be doing a service this week , plugs, air filter, oil and filter change.
Once im ready for the change over I'll change the head gaskets and cam belt.
I'll do a full build thread on here.
Any help and tips will welcome :ok
Cheers , Daz

Cheers for that , I bought the whole car via an add on ebay . Turned out when i looked into it , it was a local dealer in Chesterfield. It's a bit of a shed but everything works on it and im well impressed with the power. Service parts are cheap as well which is a bonus.

Anyone know what's involved with the reverse inlet manifold ? Just wondered if I could get it re machined at work to save some pennies.

From memory the heater outlet is removed and welded up at the other end the outlet is cut off and welded back on at the correct angle to mate up with the bulkhead pipes and then another pipe is tee'd in which goes to the header tank or heater can't remember.

I think for £50 it really isn't worth the hassle of doing it yourself.

E D I T Just reread your question do you mean inlet manifold if so ignore all above or do you mean coolant manifold?

You are absolutely right , I did mean coolant manifold , been looking at it today and I agree with you , not worth doing myself. No acces to aluminium welding gear :(
I had a small issue of the engine revs rising and falling on tickover. After a bit of searching i followed an ECU reset procedure and all seams well now :ok

There's a 2wd MBTechnik mount of mine at Dai's if you have a wbx engine bar.......solves exhaust mount issue and I have a pair of preloved and recovered RJES cast exhaust manifolds if you want to build your own exhaust system, email me if interested
