Alternator not charging, change the voltage regulator £10 usually from suppliers

Oh? did he check the charge across the battery terminals then?...should read 14.5 volts when charging.
If it does then disregard my advice

if it started a few times with a new battery it sugests that there is a current draw somewhere! go through the fuse box and take out anything that isn't needed lights, stereo etc, and then see if it will run and start a few days later! if it does then go donw the wiki route! if you havethe time or inpatience go donw the wiki route first more likely you'll find the solution quickly!

Have you a multi meter?
if not then borrow one, and check the charge.

I have an voltmeter wired in and its straight to 14.5v untill the lights and heater and wipers go on.

then as dave says take all the fuses out that are not needed and see what happens.....dave knows about elecktrickery

Get a Multimeter with an amps range.

Ignition off.
Disconnect the +ve terminal from the battery and connect meter from battery +ve terminal to the wire you disconnected.
Reading should be close to zero.
I the reading is more than an amp then current is going somewhere it shouldnt and will flatten the battery fairly quickly.

You can use a 12v bulb instead of the meter but judging bulb brightness, compareing wattages is a dark art.
