Eberspacher - diesel pump won't start

Hi All,
As per my previous post - bought an Eberspacher d2 off auction site which was sold as untested -
I can get it to go through the motions, starts, fan accelerates etc, glow plug gets hot but after the set time it refuses to put power to the diesel pump. Checked the pump separately which pulses when I test it with 12 v and it has a resistance of 10 ohms etc. Filter is clean etc
New battery is fully charged and is giving 12.8 v at the heater
Any suggestions ? Am I correct in thinking maybe the ECU is fubarred !!
