Ecu is for D/B1LC and also possibly D3L, D3LC, D5L, D8LC. Should be the first.
Looks like you need to connect 12v power to the 2 pin socket that is waving in the breeze on the right and give it a try and see what happens.

Thank you Oldiebut goodie - I think I know where you mean...but as im a complete novice with electrics, what sort of thing do I have to stick in it?

I would expect there to be a two pin connector with matching coloured wiring somewhere close to which it was originally connected. That should lead to the leisure battery or that area if not connected to it. Have a scrabble around for it.

Thanks, I'll have a look for it today - I've found SO many odd wires in the van that have been cut..there is a wooden panel that looks like it was used to mount something to, under the rear seats...perhaps it was connected to that at some point? I do remember a timer of some sort that looked broken, floating around in the van when I first bought it - I now realise it must have been the timer. I threw it out.!
