Hi, We have extensively searched various reversing sensor kits and cannot arrive at a positive conclusion. Is it feasible & practical to fit a sensor to our 1982 T25? If so which one would you recommend? Any help would be very gratefully received.

What bumpers have you got metal or GRP

I fitted cheap sensors on my van and they were pretty useless. In the end I fitted a camera and a LCD mirror.

I fitted it so long ago I can't remember where I got it. Probably ebay. There's one like it on there now, there are loads of others, just search for LCD reversing mirror.

It comes in handy if I've left the thermo mat or curtain across the back window. The one I've got has got a second channel and I will get around to fitting an IR camera for using at night, as the camera I've got fitted is only for day-light.

Have fitted to both the van and my car both excellent. But different kits for metal and plastic bumpers.
The most important thing is positioning of the sensors.

I've just fitted a set to a friends metal bumper T25. Was impressed with the quality and ease of fit. I'll E D I T to add a link when I've found it! Didn't go for the cheapest but they still weren't expensive.

Thanks for all your replies.I think we had already learned all points from our research.We do have metal bumpers and would never drill just for this reason,I have a hard enough job keeping this 33yrs old vehicle rust free without waking the rust up. I only thought about fitting an aid to judging distance in my mirrors because at 90 I can no longer back up to a wall with confidence to within 2 feet, it is more like 3 to 4 now. I still have not hit anything and I still want to be parked perfectly.I guess I'll need Margaret to get out and see me back,Sod this old age. All the best Cheers .Gone me.

You can do 90 in reverse?!

Half the time I have to open drivers door wide and physically crane my neck round to judge it right, Mind you, reversing into underground car park spaces is a must sometimes. I once got stuck in Bedworth Tesco car park for an hour and had to wait until some cars had pulled off just so I could get out.
