I used my old dg van to move my kitcar from London to Scottish borders, must have been getting on for a ton with trailer, didn't seem to make much difference to speed, came over Carter Bar without any issues. Also used to tow an old horse trailer with a hefty horse in it. no problem on the flat, but it struggled on hills.

My 2.0 l Aircooled pulls a teardrop like its not there that includes 4 people and all our stuff admittedly at tractor speed up slack hill in Matlock but happily cruises at 65 on the motorway. Go for it
