Coil question

Hi, having the wrong coil fitted to a 2.0 cu, how much will it effect the running ? Mine has a bosch blue fitted ( its never ran brilliant ) & i just checked it against the resistance readings out the haynes for an original one & theres a lot of difference.

Hi sorry, i think im missing something here......will it make much difference then ?

The haynes says pri res .52 - .76 ohms & sec res 2.4 - 3.5 k ohms

The bosch blue is 3.5 ohms & 11.35 k ohms....

Transistor and Hall effect coil....find it on a polo

The bosch blue is 3.5 ohms & 11.35 k ohms....

Points and condenser ignition....beetles..bays..Oh, and mine..

For the record, you've got to have the right coil.....mine runs well now with the correct coil & for the 1st time it actually pulls now.

So what coil have you now? (and are you on the original electronic / no points system?)

The coil is a second hand one & i checked the resistances with what it said in the haynes & its in the right ranges.....
The dizzy is still original.
