My rear door lock is not locking .When I close the rear door and try to turn the key in the barrel it wont lock although I can turn the latch with my fingers to lock when the door is open.I don't know if I need to replace the latch or the actual barrel and keys..any ideas ..I think it may be the barrel and keys needing replace ,just wanna be shure as a new one is £50 unless I can find a decent used lock

I had a similar problem on my very 1st car (Triumoph Herald ) - I resolved it by squirting a little WD40 in the lock while the key was partially inserted. Basically, the lock was cream crackered, but it fixed it for a while.

Just took the lock apart and cleaned a load of crap from the latch ,greased it and it seems to be working ok now..
I hope this post will help others before spending cash ,I should have done this in the first place before posting.
