Gearbox sealant

Hi all,
I have been meaning to try to stop a slight leak from both the final drive/diff and auto box lower covers.
I have the gaskets and filters for the auto box but what is the best sealant to use that will not get washed away by gear box oil or the ATF. I am sure that if I just clean and replace with new gaskets it will leak again.

Pete

I used the slightest smear of dirko S on my auto sump gasket. My final drive has leaks from the pan and the shaft seals and the auto is also leaking from the joint with the final drive so I reckon I need to remove the lot and wire brush then paint. split the final drive and replace both shaft seals between the two as well as the gasket and o ring. Also drain the final drive change the pan seal and the shaft seals. I believe there is a seal on the torque convertor also so this sounds like a long job. But I reckon especially with the auto this is important while the seals are still available.
