1.9 dg clouds of smoke, help needed

Hi

I took my t25 for a nice run on Sunday and whilst driving on the motorway at 60 mph I looked in my rear view mirror to see a cloud of white / blue smoke. stopped the van and called RAC, tried to start her again and met with cloud and rough sounding engine so turned straight off. A few days before I had the oil buzzer go, so checked the oil level (didn't know it was oil pressure) and the level was perfect. water is ok as well,

I did a compression test and there is hardly and compression. I can turn the engine by hand without any resistance.

Any ideas if this is salvageable?

Any idea how far you drove with the smoke?
Sounds strange to me to loose compression on all cylinders but still manage to start (even if it sounded rough)
Do you have a full sump of oil now? If so drain it and see what comes out
Do you have a full cooling system now ( check tank inside engine bay)?

oh welcome to 8090, you were on the B' yard wern't you?

Check what plugs look like also, get some more details up and perhaps pics of any bits in oil or plugs helps.
worth taking rocker covers off and checking valve gear is operating.
yes worst case is another engine but nobody can be sure at this stage, they come up second hand for 5-700

what year is the van and where are you?

Compression check would be my first move - takes much of the guesswork out of diagnosing.
