Rocknroll bed problem- Diamond RV conversion

hi all
Can anybody help with understanding the bed set up? As a seat it lilts back n forth - not great as kids travel on it & as a bed it also tips down & comes off the runners... I know its not the usual rocknroll set up- just wondering if anyone else has same lay out & if there is a lock/catch missing somewhere or a technique I'm failing to grasp? ( highly probable...)
Any advice gratefully received- really don't want another night of lurching about in my sleep.

Thank you

You're the first person I've ever seen to have one of these, except for me, mine was the same when I got it.

I've fitted a catch at the front which clamps it down to the 'kickboard' it's the type you might find at somewhere like Towsure.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say it comes off the runners though?

It should pull forward and then the back should lay flat using the mechanism you show in your picture and then the rear mattress should complete the bed.

Hey Shepster
Thanks for your reply. So yours didn't lock down either? The metal knob ( there may be a more technical term for this...)that sticks out from side of seats to sit in runners slips out of the rails when grappling to put it flat.It does fold down flat but tips when you sit on it.Lock sounds good idea- any chance you could add some pictures? Is your van a Diamond RV ?
Cheers

I'll get some photo's over the next day or so.

When you say tips, do you mean if you sit on the end of the bed?

Mine is a Diamond RV as well but I've altered it a lot over the years.

Thanks that d be really helpful & I would love a nosy at what you ve done as mine is very much a project at the early stages.Mine seems to be a basic version as I met another one with a boiler & shower ( leaky pop top doesn't count apparently...) & yup you have to get in bed very carefully...
