Any reason why a Facet couldn't be used on a 2.1 injection?

A facet what? Fuel pump?

So long as it delivers at least the same flow (500cc in 30 sec) and pressure (2.5 bar min at the FPR) as the standard pump, no reason at all. But it won't give any benefit - the pressure's regulated by the FPR, and excess flow is returned to the tank.

Yep, pump. My thinking too. The main difference would be price I should think. A few places (outlets) do say 'not suitable for fuel injection' but don't actually give a reason. I assume this is down to the particular model having incorrect pressure but a pump is a pump I'd have thought and providing it delivers same, it should work. I don't have a 2.1 but as friend does and his pump has failed.

Pressure, probably. Carbs require much, much lower fuel pressure than injection - about 5psi, rather than ~3bar (45psi)

but a pump is a pump I'd have thought and providing it delivers same, it should work. I don't have a 2.1 but as friend does and his pump has failed.

It's a bog-standard '80s inline injection pump, as fitted to a whole raft of stuff of that era, from BMW to VW to everybuggerandtheirdog.

Nope fuel injection pumps usually have internal fuel accumulator except some of the older D and Jetronic systems which uses an external accumulator.
