Hi
Passed Mot but lots of advisories, was thinking of putting the bus off the road in the winter and having a go at these, not sure how to go about the repairs so any advice welcome ( long list sorry ). Heading to G.O.T.H next week so I Will be the daft Scotsman asking all the silly questions about these below.

N/S Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened
N/S Front Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
N/S Rear Suspension component mounting area is corroded but not considered excessive
N/S Front Suspension component mounting area is corroded but not considered excessive
O/S Front Suspension arm Rubber Bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement
O/S Lower Front SUspension ball joint dust cover deteriorated but preventing ingress of dirt
O/S Suspension component mounting area corroded but not considered excessive
O/S Front Suspension compo mounting area corroded but not considered excessive

As you can see quite a bit but I am willing to give anything a try myself first.

Thanks in advance of replies .

Boab

You'll need to inspect trailing arms (rear suspension) carefully for any evidence of weakness or holes and decide whether you want to tackle the bushes. If you do, best to get the arms blasted and see if they're in good enough order to repaint. The corner they're attached to is commonly corroded so you may need to dig around a little.

The near side trailing arm looks like it has been welded at some point looking at it,bus will be off the road so better to take off and get it blasted to see how bad they are, I take it these will be near impossible to get now if they are worse than they look.

Plenty second hand around and new custom (but expensive) from the States. Hard bit, and I mean seriously challenging, is getting them off and getting old bushes out.
