Louvre windows.

My van was original with louvre windows which over time have been replaced by po with plain glass. I want to return to original and have seen a few second hand units. I want to restore a second hand one to good condition including painting the metal work to match van. My question is, do they strip down ok and are easy to refurb.

No responses to this. I'm guessing these windows are like hens teeth now?

Mine has louvred window , one window , two sets of of openers .
Glass all comes out easily enough and aluminium cleans up well with wire wool . I put new mozi screens in the frames using net off Ebay.

Thanks dazco, that helps, just need to find one now. Are any of the parts prone to breakage, like the handles?

I have a louvred window that I bought to replace a sliding window over the kitchen area, but I've changed my mind - the depth of the louvred window means my worktops would not clip open. My van is a UK panel van conversion, and the louvred window is the right size - this means it's the wrong size for a van with factory windows. I can't remember the dimensions, but can measure it if you're interested. I also can't remember if it's got two opening sections (like Dazco's) or one - one I think. It's in my shed - I can take photos if you're interested.

You're right - they're quite rare and it cost me a fair bit. I'd be looking for about £80 + carriage.

I just checked - it's two sections, with separate openers. Too dark for photos right now though, so I'll take some tomorrow.

Hi everyone

I'm a new member and have recently purchased my first VW. Its a 1986 autosleeper high top and it's great!

One of the Louvre windows has a opening handle missing/snapped. I have searched everywhere on the net and they are unheard of. Does anyone know of replacement availability or other means of addressing the problem? Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Hi everyone,
I have exactly the same louvred window in my Leisuredrive conversion van. I believe they were made by Devon?

Does anyone know where I could get the white seal for the upper louvre? as well as the brush seals for the side mechanisms?

I've also seen the louvre glass edge seals on JK website but are they any good? Looks like mine has self adhesive foam draught excluder strips.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
