It always happens at the worst times.

Driving home after last minute shopping, and bits for trifle!. .Bit of a job to change gear. stopped at lights, with clutch pedal depressed and the engine stalled. Started up again OK but could not get into gear :(
No clutch. Bugger it :? Switched of engine, selected gear, started engine and away we go  Drove home like this about 8 miles.
Checked Master cylinder, bit low, topped up and pumped the pedal several times. Now have a pool of fluid under steering column
I guess that is the Master cylinder leaking? yes?

there are some pipes to check in behind the dash, pull off the steering cowl to get a better look and lift of the dash pod to find where its coming from. try and wipe up spilled brake fluid its nasty stuff for metal and paint etc.

.
Got it done today. Found a super bodge had been done, by the dealer I got the van from I bet,. Any way, the plastic pipe from the master cylinder to the metal pipe along side the rad had at some time or other been damaged below the master cylinder. A section of steel pipe had been inserted and clamped with very small Jubilee type clips. Should have worked for years, but they had not allowed for the clutch pedal being depressed, it was just sliding along side the "temporary" repair and brushing the plastic pipe. Thus wearing the plastic pipe away.
My Son turned up this Morning with a length of plastic pipe, 2 snap connector thingies. Removed the banjo union from master cylinder., cut the plastic pipe along side the rad, shaped the new plastic pipe it hot water. Fitted the banjo on one end, slid the pipe through the grommet . Clipped the snap thingy on to the original bit of pipe, you are following this ? snapped in the new pipe, bolted the union onto the master cyl, quick bleed, with me pumping the pedal, jobs a good un.. All in less than an hour

And I taught him all he knows   I just wish he lived nearer
