coolant loss

hi all, following on from earlier post found a leak in the hose from from header to expansion tank. having replaced that water has now started pushing up through the plug type thing with electric cables in. does anyone know if this all has to be replaced is there some sort of washer or gasket underneath. i replaced the coolant hose with a fuel hose of same diameter because thats all they had,is this ok, thanx eugene

In this case, fuel hose is ok, because that particular hose is not under the normal coolant system pressure.
