Rear brake adjuster position

School boy error I'm afraid. Stripped the rear brakes and forgot which way the brake adjuster goes. Can someone kindly confirm they are as in the pic. i.e. the thinner side of each end nearer the backplate. I've seen a few pics but some are the other way round.
Many thanks.

Thanks Dave,
Looks like this could be wrong & the longer fork (on the left in pic) should be on the backplate side.

It's definitely in the Haynes manual. I fitted it the wrong way and after adjusting up the brakes it would slip out of position. Lots of head scratching and a check it the Haynes manual I realised my mistake.

Other notes of caution.
Don't get the top return springs upside down or they interfer with the adjuster.
Be sure not to mix left and right adjusters (I think I am right in saying they have different thread directions but I might be thinking of something else lol)
Make sure the hand brake cables are slack and the 'levers' are fully returning to their 'stop' position BEFORE adjusting the wheel on the brake adjuster/balance bar. Once done re-adjust and take out the cable slack.
Don't be tempted to grease the threads on the adjuster bar, just thoroughly wire brush them and make sure they turn freely (grease attracts the dust and gums up the treads).

Tip:, you can use a reversable clamp like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cogex-Automatic ... able+clamp to open up the brake pads with the return springs fitted
