weldable gearstick

yo folks,just picked the ball n chain up from her xmas works doo,p****d aza rat n snoring like an asmatic pit pony!,so im bored n this question has been rattling around the owd grey matter for some weeks now..........is it possible to weld a t25 gearstick,with the owd faithful mig?.the aftermarket gearknob,when fitted resides in exactly the same place as my left knee,so i need to put a kink in it and re-weld the bend,any ideas folks or is the only answer to cut it off and tap a thread on the end and make a bolt on extension...........................help me obi-wan--kenobi.you are my only hope!

Had same props with mine. My stick is hollow, so I just jammed a threaded rod into it and screwed the knob back, not original knob, on the threaded rod.
Have it as high as you like. I also put a kink into the leaver to make it miss the radio when I changed into 2nd. got fed up changing stations when changing gear .

You should be able to adjust it to suit your preference, without cuttin n shuttin. Just follow the steps within the haynes manual for gear lever adjustment. Alternatively you could buy a short throw kit from brickwerks.

haynes manual,ive only got club 80-90?,and im ferkin brassed now with christmas and all,arl have to hang on a bit and see what happens,anyway shes just had a soddin pink steering wheek cover for xmas.......................
