How did you mount your oil cooler?

1.9 DG to 2.1 MV. The MV came with an oil cooler/inter warmer so I figured I should fit something. However been driving around for 4 months without issue. I don't know what the oil temp. was though, so this won't help on that front I'm afraid. Fitted a Mocal oil cooler, super tight in there around the sandwich plate. Could have gone with shorter pipes but was guesstimating at the time for ordering purposes from Demon Tweeks. I'll move the slack topside, I think behind the rear lens. Apart from that pretty pleased. Oh, I've got a sump plug with oil temperature spade clip on it, to wire in for the VDO Celsius Gauge, so I can at least offer oil temps. post install.







I'm learning as I go, but Im told it's prudent to fit an inline oilstat too, so it redirects oil to cooler only after temp reaches 80degC. Could end up with oil sludge if I don't. I'll do this now, when I reduce length of those hose lines.

How many rows does you're cooler have? I'm looking at doing this on both of mine, I like the idea of putting the cooler behind the light rather than up front.

10 row. Yes, the D pillar offers good air flow. This guy put it on a plate diagonally, which I like too. Oh, and you'll need a termostatic sandwich plate, that triggers @ ~80deg (to allow the engine to warm up normally before the need to engage the cooler).

I also went for a 30mm oil pump to help pump the oil the extra distance. however, the larger flange on this pump fowls the engine cradle, so you have to add a shim or washers if you go for this upgrade.
