Fuel gauge kaput

My (petrol) gauge hasn't worked for a long time . I run 99% of the time on gas but would like a working petrol gauge.
Is the petrol gauge powered from the 12 - 10 volt regulator ?
My temp gauge works fine and I think they are both on the 10 volt suply . If so it must be wiring from the sender or the sender itself .
