Electrolux RM 212 Fridge

After reading various threads and wiki tips (turning it upside down etc for 24hrs), I managed to get my fridge up and running on 240v and 12v. However on 240v it seems to be cycling all the time, Monitored via consumption meter in house. Understand on 12v it runs constantly but on 240v should switch off occasionally. How long should it run on 240v before thermostat control switches it off. Have set it to lower setting but still runs. Freezer compartment gets v cold. So I know it is working. Tks Tony

The cold setting is merely a heat setting for the element.
It should be constant.
IIRC both the electric element is for both power sources.

I might be wrong but that sounds normal to me.

Tks for replies, I thought the thermostat on 240v would switch off the fridge as it got cold/the correct temperature, but it appears to be supplying power constantly to the elements instead of switching off occasionally, is this normal. Tks Tony

My vans got an RM212, I might turn it on tomorrow and see how it behaves on 240v.

Tks to all for efforts, diagrams v useful II suspect I may have a dodgy thermostat or maybe not left the system running long enough to identify if it works properly. Because of the silent running system not so easy to identify if it does switch on and off. Rgds Tony

I've had mine running from 8 o'clock this morning set to max and it hasn't got cold enough to trigger the thermostat. If I turn down the thermostat I can hear it click off and then click on when turned up again. Temperature is down to about 5 on the thermostat.

Tks, I tested mine for about an hour and the freezer part got v cold with the top pipe on the outside at the back getting v hot (marked on the above diagram as the water separator), suspect this is part of the process. I may have not let it run long enough to allow the thermostat to operate, as you mentioned (clicking on/off) Rgds Tony. Further to my last during the test I did turn the thermostat knob fully anti clockwise but this did not switch the unit off.
