Paint finishing - rustoleum

I've put on two coats now and am giving it the final flatting and polish this week. I did a small test area by hand and it took ages so I'd like to go with a machine of some kind. I already have a random orbital sander. Can I get polishing pads for that or do I need to buy a car polisher (i dunno what the differences are between the two).
Thanks
Iain

I used a ros with 1200 grit w & d paper, used lots of water with a drop of washing up liquid. Use very little pressure on the sander and you'll see the paint being removed by the streaks running down the bodywork.

When did you paint it? Too early and you won't make any impression sanding and could ruin what you've done. I still say 4 weeks is best.
