Westfalia Water tank replacement

Hi there everyone,

We own a lime green 1980 2.0 CU Westie and have had it for a year or so. It's our first van and we got a bit unlucky as we've ended up replacing the clutch (it broke down on the way to our wedding) and then the engine (the crank shaft snapped on the way back from the clutch garage).It's running like a dream now though and we're just making a few improvements to the interior before a trip to France in August.

One thing we need to replace is the fresh water tank under the rear seat. I've looked far and wide and have found one on Gunzl, but it doesn't have the points for the control panel LEDs. Here's the part;

Does anyone know of an alternative supplier with the points in place or, alternatively, whether you simply drill them into the new tank and transfer from the old one?

Many thanks and nice to meet you all.

Nick

I believe the level indicator sensor is a tube with conductors on the side which is suspended in the tank from above, so probably no drilling required to the tank. I've seen a how-to somewhere for refurbishing this bit but but can't remember where - you met be able to turn it up in s Google search. I'm not sure where you'd get one other than secondhand.
