I have trawled the internet re this and not found what I'm looking for, perhaps it is not there?

Any how, I'll ask in the hope someone knows. I have a standard up and over garage door. Headroom once inside garage is good though. Van is about 6 inches too tall and I would dearly like my van in there for winter.

I have read various topics about letting down tyres to fitting kids bike tyres on rims. Neither of which I would favour. Is there such a thing as a modified small wheel that fits on the hub that allows the van to be moved v small distances, the sort of wheels you would find on a micro agricultural vehicle for instance.
Surely there must be something out there that would work. Anyone got any ideas?

I did think about industrial casters fitted into jacking points but with enough clearance to allow for brake drums and discs.

Is there anything out there. There must be others in same predicament?

Spare set of steels always going cheap with shot tyres, put them on, let the air out drive in on flats, swap origional wheels back, no point making life harder than needs be.

Changing garage door to barn doors will give several inches of clearance.

Lots of t4 and t5 steels on flea bay. Do they fit?

t25 steels come up regularly sometimes free, stick a wanted ad up with your location as they are costly to deliver

Van suspension lowered 50 mmm

Lowering is a consideration. I've got a TV 20 autosleeper which I think is about 2.1m

Take the garage door off. Drive van in. Put door back.

from memory (i'm no wheel guru) but the T5 wheel's won't fit, they are 120pcd.
The T4 are the same pcd as the T3 (112 i think) but the centre size is different.

Change your garage door for barn doors, it'll save a lot of faffing around in the long run

I remember reading on some overland blog or Facebook page about some guy who had a set of "shipping container wheels" that he fitted to a high-top T3 to allow it to be driven into a shipping container to be shipped to the next country - pretty sure it was just a set of steelies with no tyres!

Actually, no they are custom made wheels - you can see them from 4:00 in this video (the whole thing is worth a watch though!):-

Container wheels made in Turkey. These look just the ticket! Wonder if anyone supplies in UK?

With some garages (not brick) its possible with a series of wooden wedges, to gradually jack the garage up to get the clearance then infill with bricks/cement. In other cases its a case of moving the door lintel up a notch. Have done this twice so far with friends garages.
