Hi there..my van ...2.1 F reg..is not holding the battery charge and I have noticed that the central locking mechanism for the passenger door is sticking..not opening...removed door panel and door locking motor very hot so have disconnected the wiring to it and am now re-charging battery. Would a sticking door motor drain the battery or am I clutching at straws here ....is the battery just knackered. Many thanks in advance for any advice and tips...Warge

Yep! If it's hot it's drawing energy - from the battery!

I'm assuming its the OEM CL.
These images

might help.
Each of the front doors have a +ve, -ve, "lock" and "unlock" wire.
The sliding door and the tailgate just have the -ve, "lock" and "unlock"
As far as I know the sliding contacts on the side send the lock signal, while the toothed wheel contacts tell each motor if it is locked, unlocked or moving.

Its worth unplugging the other motors one by one to check that they arnt causing the "hot" motor to be energised.
Then take the "hot" motor apart, the springs on the sliding contact will probably be corroded. I replaced min with some cut down from a propelling pencil.
The toothed wheel contacts will be dirty and need cleaning up too.

Good luck.
