hi all vacuum choke pull down unit was cracked so replaced it it came with a locking washer? whats that for? any one thanks

It fits over the rod that the vacuum unit pulls ...... circled in green in the pic below ..

(note: the pic isn't exactly the right carb or vac unit but it was the first one I found that showed what I was talking about)

Yeah - I don't imagine it's vital - more a belt and braces approach
