Need to replace the rear shocks on my T25 ..1985 1.6 diesel
Can anyone suggest a make or supply a link to a decent well made pair that is gonna last
There are lots listed on ebay and JK have a heavy duty set made by Sachs Boge ZF ,,but these are £60 each..

They are pricy but I am shure they are worth it

But think about the rating of the shocks. Folk often think heavy duty is better but these vans were designed as 2 ton delivery vehicles not relatively lightly loaded camper vans. I once had ~a ton of paving slabs to move 20 miles and with that weight in the van handled noticeably better, due I guess to the shocks (and springs) working more within their design parameters. If ever I need shocks I will be looking at standard or maybe even softer than standard. ( all "IMHO" of course!).

Yep another vote for the Billies, I have used them and think for the money they are great, personally I dont think £35 each is a bad price.

GSF often have them at a good price when there's one of their regular 35% offers on.

What about Meyle shocks ..can get a front and rear set for £80

GSF are advertising shocks on the bay as original equipment quality ,are these worth investing in compared to brickwerks-bilstein?

Well, I get on fine with basic ones. I would tend to agree with Ghost on this. You can buy better ones sure but I doubt you'd actually notice the difference - except in your mind. Of course new shocks of whatever type will always be better than knackered ones. I have the GSF ones front and back. I find them a nice ride - even over sleeping policemen at speed.

Offroad - different matter.

Yes but do they last as long.I don't want to have to buy another set in 5 years
GSF stock Brickwecks and Amtex .I would fit Amtex if I thought they would last as long as the van

10 years average for almost all shocks. But you spend your money on what suits you. I wasn't impressed with 'heavy duty' on bugs. Went back to stock - smoother ride.
