Hi

Are there two different sizes of ignition leads?? I know there are two longer and two shorter. However, the ones I have just bought the shorter ones are a good three inches shorter and don't reach the plug's!!!

I purchased them from gsf as the correct ones for 1.9dg. So are these faulty or is are there different sizes and I've "cock" ed up

Thanks

It's a well known issue when buying HT leads from GSF or Just Kampers :( Send them back for a refund!!

Brickwerks, or take the old ones to your local motor factors to match them up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SOOOOooooo many folk get muddled up with firing order when doing this = "I replaced my HT leads, now it won't start, it just backfires a lot"
Take a pic or make accurate notes as to which one went to which plug ;) E D I T = or replace one at a time :roll:
I took them off in sequence and the shorter one of the was stretched across and kinked a bit. So I have put the two shorter ones to the left of the engine and the longer ones to the right.
However still idling fine but stalls when try and pull off. Getting really F*****d off with it now !!!!!
Stalling under acceleration is an induction air leak.
Search " air leak" or "stalling" on here and you'll be overwhelmed with advice.
..yup. common. Also maybe muck in carb jets usually the accelrator pump or transition jet.
Look up 'suction method ' for a quick cure... gloved hand over carb choke as throttle whipped open. Repeat at different throttle/rev ranges. Don't overrev. Will slow and nearly stall.. remove hand. Takes a decade or two to get the hang if it :)
Of course remove carb inlet plenum first ;)
